I find it fascinating that interesting tidbits of information show up in the most unexpected places. Last week I attended a real estate continuing education class called With a Water View: Shore Friendly Beach and Bluff Properties. It provided an abundance of useful information about low impact ways of protecting both the uplands and the beach of waterfront properties. One of the topics was how plants on the face of the bank and along edge at the top help to stabilize the banks. Good to know. But we also learned that plantings along the top edge of a bank help discourage Canada Geese from landing on your lawn and making a mess of it. Apparently, they like to have a clear approach for a landing. I didnít expect to learn that in a real estate class!
