The Hood Canal, a 68 mile-long fjord, is a unique feature of the local region. Management of its delicate ecosystem is shared by the three counties it touches, in conjunction with other governmental entities. To help in this process, the groups involved formed the Hood Canal Coordinating Council. Its web site says it works with partners, community groups, and citizens to advance a shared vision to recover and protect Hood Canalís environmental and economic health and wellbeing.
